About Me, Paul Smith: what I learned, my approach as a counsellor, my beliefs

A brief introduction

My name is Paul Smith, I have been a counsellor since 2011, having finished my training in my early 40’s I began working in the Bolton and Salford areas. Having always been driven to helping people with their problems, people have always found it easy to come to me with their problems.

I have a good ear and I care about people and their welfare. it was not until later when I decided to develop my skills and trained to be a counsellor that I became more involved in it as a career. For a while I worked part time, now it is my fulltime occupation I am able to offer more of my time to what is in my heart.

my beliefs

I firmly believe that no amount of training can give someone the care and supporting energy that makes a good counsellor. being professional does not necesarily mean a good connection with someone is made, I like to offer myself as someone who genuinely cares about people, about you and along with my skills developed over the years and my continuing personal and professional development I feel I can offer something rather more special in addition to being your professional counselling therapist.…I truly care.

I am fully insured and a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), and work strictly to their code of ethics.
